MOBILE WORKING AT HEIGHTS INSTRUCTOR

In order to meet an increased demand for training, Geetech is looking for an instructor for our Working at Heights program. If you are a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety instructor who is passionate about work at height safety education and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!
This position is responsible for developing, delivering and facilitating the Geetech Work at Height training course, dedicated to the superyacht industry.
This includes classroom instruction, field instruction (on board the vessel) virtual instruction and administering assessments in both written and practical environments.
This position is also involved in the creation and managing updates to curriculum to ensure all materials are maintained to current standards

Hours: 40 hours a week, flexible hours according to training schedule, with travel to be expected.

Job Responsibilities:
/ Assist with the development of standard training programs and curriculum, including outline, text, SOP’s handouts, tests and training exercises.
/ Deliver engaging and informative Working at Heights training to clients & work colleagues by providing a balanced mix of knowledge and practical skills-based training
/ Evaluate participants through practical skills and written evaluation
/ Develop and deliver bespoke client courses
/ Maintain the training equipment & storage areas
/ Frequently travel throughout Europe to various vessels or shipyards in order to deliver the trainings
/ Maintain continuous self-education to remain up to date on current and changing applicable regulations and standards
/ Provide clients consultancy on applicable regulations and selection of proper equipment/tools to ensure regulation compliance and safe work procedures
/ Provide consultancy to clients for optimized positioning of Access Tracks, Padeyes, Mast steps.
/ Assist clients/ sales colleagues with PPE Equipment selection list customized for the yacht according to their design, shape, material, access point, number of crew working aloft at the same time.
/ Aid other departments, primarily Sales and Engineering Services, in the promotion of company products and services
/ Assist with practical demonstrations and equipment sales events.
/ Assist our Service and Refit team with installation, modification, repair/ maintenance of yacht equipment, specifically overside track systems and hardpoints/ padeyes.
When not undertaking training, you will take on the Lifting and Working at Height Inspector Role which includes:
/ Carry out Thorough Examination and load testing of lifting and working at height equipment and accessories in line with Company procedures on clients’ equipment to ensure regulatory compliance and report on condition.
/ Provide accurate and timely written reports.
Profile
/ If you can comfortably work at height and have the knowledge of fall protection and rescue techniques
/ If you are passionate about educating people on the importance and value of safety training
/ If you have strong organizational skills, high level of initiative and resourcefulness
/ If you have strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to speak in front of a variety of audiences
/ If you bring a positive “can do” attitude to work every day and demonstrated ability to get work accomplished
/ If you are able to meet the travel commitments of the position
REQUIREMENTS
/ Strength and fitness for working at height
/ Training experience in Confined Space and/or First Aid would be considered an asset
/ Min 3 years Work at Height/ Rope access experience and qualification
/ Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
/ Bi-lingual preferred (French & English written and verbal form)
/ Able to travel nationally and internationally
/ Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in training, sales and direct customer relations
/ Strong IT skills with a knowledge of presentation packages and equipment
/ Be able to work within a team environment as well as work without supervision
Special Working Conditions: In-office training; travelling to and from on-site training; flexible schedule as times may vary. Driver’s license is required for use of company vehicle.
