SENIOR SERVICE TECHNICIAN/ HYDRAULICS SPECIALIST

Hydraulics with mechanical and electrical abilities required.

Job Summary:

  • Service, maintenance, refit, and installation of yacht equipment in accordance with our Company and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures and requirements.
  • Install hydraulic tubing, hoses, pumps, motors, including system testing.
  • Test functional performance of assembled equipment/systems for SOLAS and MCA requirements
  • Facilitate lifting/rigging plans to remove and install yacht equipment including hand signal communications with crane operator.
  • Carry out Thorough Examination and load testing of lifting equipment and accessories as well as work at height equipment, in line with Company procedures on clients’ equipment to ensure regulatory compliance and report on condition.
  • Communicating with the customers and providing technical solutions in a clear manner.
  • Assist the Company’s Director with planning and managing the work and projects.
  • Work closely with a team of technicians and apprentices.
  • Mentor and direct less experienced employees in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Assist the team with other Mechanical, Metalworks, Working at Height jobs/ projects.

The work will be undertaken onboard superyachts and at various European shipyard locations from Italy, Monaco, France & Spain.

Occasional worldwide travel for projects is required, as well as occasional work outside regular business hours.

 You will be required to attend breakdowns and servicing of equipment during the operational season (spring/summer) and undertake refit & repair projects during the refit season (autumn, winter, spring).

Requirements:

  • Time served coming from a background in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Industry.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the marine industry.
  • Knowledge of Marine industry
  • Strong technical skills and proven expertise in Cranes and other Lifting Equipment, rigging, working at height.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read engineering drawing, diagrams, schematics; must be able to understand and diagnose and solve hydraulic and electric issues in the field.
  • Ability to use all mechanics tools and operate a yacht deck equipment, cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Ability and passion to work to a very high-quality standard.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area onboard the client’s yacht.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and confident in trouble shooting, focused on detail and problem solving.
  • Can meet the physical labor requirements- a decent level of strength and fitness required.
  • Full Driving License a must, ideally you also hold a Cherry Picker and Forklift license.
  • Languages: English – Mother Tongue and/ or Professional Technical Level; French – Conversational Level Desired

MARINE OUTFITTER/ INSTALLER

If you can drill and tap, understand materials and enjoy working at height, then this one’s for you!

Job Summary:

  • You will undertake the assembly, installation, modification, repair/ maintenance of overside track systems and hardpoints/ padeyes onboard superyachts.  Post-installation load testing will also be performed, together with our Inspector.
  • You will be working aloft and at height, in cherry pickers or on scaffolding.
  • You will undertake the safe movement of marine equipment by selection of the correct lifting equipment and application of the appropriate methods and techniques.
  • You will undertake system installations using appropriate methods according to the materials type.
  • You will assist your team members with other type of service and repair jobs, including mechanical works, metalworks, hydraulics.
  • Confirmation and compliance of task/ job delivery against company quality standards.
  • The work will be undertaken onboard superyachts and at various European shipyard locations from Monaco, France, Italy and Spain

  • Completed a technical education in a mechanical discipline.
  • Several years of professional experience in the Marine Industry
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools
  • Familiarity with Rope Access Techniques and correct use of equipment for working at height – Advanced training will be provided
  • Ability to correctly identify tools, materials and equipment associated with the relevant task/ project
  • Ability to read engineering drawing, diagrams, schematics
  • Ability and passion to work to a very high-quality standard.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area onboard the client’s yacht.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and confident in trouble shooting, focused ondetail and problem solving.
  • Can meet the physical labor requirements- a decent level of strength and fitness required.
