Position overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydraulics Technician / Crane Specialist to join our team! 

This role involves Refit, Repair and servicing of lifting equipment (especially Cranes and Davits) in accordance with Company and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures and requirements.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing of electro-hydraulic equipment.

KEY Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:

Identify and resolve hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues in equipment
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint malfunctions

Servicing & Repairs:

Perform routine maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, and part replacement
Conduct complex repairs on electro-hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards
Crane fall replacement – Cable or Dyneema & Splicing onsite
Overhaul hydraulic cylinders, including disassembly and reassembly
Replace or manufacture hydraulic hoses and seal kits as needed

Inspection & Testing:

Carry out system testing, safety inspections, and performance checks
Ensure equipment meets local and international safety regulations and standards 

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and services performed
Provide detailed service reports to clients and management

Customer Support:

Liaise with clients to discuss equipment performance and provide technical advice
Deliver excellent customer service and training when needed

Compliance & Safety:

Adhere to all company and regulatory safety guidelines during fieldwork
Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and protective gear

Qualifications and REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing electro-hydraulic equipment
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including electrical and mechanical components
Experience in the marine or yachting industry is a strong plus
Technical qualification in hydraulics, electro-mechanics, or a related field is preferred 
Familiarity with industry safety standards and equipment regulations
Proven ability to work independently and handle complex repairs under time constraints
Proficiency in interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at heights
Competency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French proficiency is a plus
Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and schedules
Willingness to travel frequently for field assignments
Valid Driver’s License
