Tender to M/Y Hermitage
Description: An existing client’s custom tender was too heavy and underpowered.
Location: Antibes, France
Geetech Solution:
The idea was scoped out and proposal was presented to Captain & Chief Engineer.
- The custom tender was cut and extended to fit a longer more powerful engine.
- The new stern was designed and made in composite, fitted and painted
- A new swim platform was made in composite and fitted, painted and teak was then fitted.
- The remaining tender went on an extreme weight saving programme using Nomex Carbon Fibre
The results were impressive, 15% Weight saving, improved Centre of Gravity, 40% more power with Improved speed and handling.
Captain, Chief Engineer & Owner were all impressed with this delicate and unique project which was completed in only 6 weeks from order to approval of seatrials.
