Valves

Geetech can supply and install both classification type approved, and manufacturers’ type approved marine valves for Superyachts.

Many of the systems on-board use seawater to cool them, and therefore rely on valves to seal the hull and keep the yacht watertight.  As part of your 5 yearly survey, valves need to be removed, inspected and tested.

It goes without saying that with any device that penetrates the hull of a yacht, the choice of materials, design and method of installation is paramount to the safety and reliability of the vessel. In our extensive experience, trying to repair old valves can still leave you with a less than perfect result as the handle still may be seized.

The safest and most cost-effective approach is to install new valves.

Geetech can quickly and inexpensively supply and install marine valves which have been type approved either by classification (usually Lloyds, ABS, DNV GL) or by the manufacturer.

Type approval is granted to a product after thorough testing (witnessed by a surveyor) to guarantee that the product meets a minimum set of regulatory, technical and safety requirements.

If new pipework needs fabricating, or flanges need installing, Geetech can also provide these services.
